About The Event
Join our select group of river women led by Jeremy Ann Anderson, Ayurvedic practitioner and adventure guide, and Bridget Crocker, author and whitewater explorer on a 5-day journey down Idaho's Salmon River. We'll dive into the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda and deepen our journey through writing to facilitate the unlayering of identity while discovering our inner essence and connection to the natural world.
"The best teacher to wake you up is Mother Earth...It's as simple as going to the river...and putting your hands in it. It's as simple as that...It triggers this spiritual awakening...Then you hear." ~ Wendsler Nosie, Apache leader
Do you need some rejuvenation? Do you want some time for yourself to do a little introspection? To sit with yourself and take a deeper listen? To let the river nurture and renew your spirit?
This is a very special offering that has been in the works for many years. Last summer, my river sister, Bridget Crocker and I paddled down the Kern, which for both of us is our home river. As we made our way downstream, all charged up with the high water, feeling the negative ions creating magic in the air, this collaboration came into being: REFLECTIONS WITH WATER: Whitewater Rafting, Writing and Ayurveda.
While I hadn't seen the Kern in over a decade, it is the river of my heart and also where I met Bridget in 2001. I was a few years into river guiding and just settling into the Kern as my home river and she was returning to the Kern for healing and renewal. We became dear river sisters. We stayed connected through life changes and supported each other as we went after our dreams. I became an Ayurvedic Practitioner and Bridget became a writer and author. We both followed the flow of the river and our own callings, somehow knowing that these divergent braids of the river would reconverge into something beautiful one day. We felt it. After we both had 2 girls each, we brought our daughters to introduce them to the Kern. We paddled many rivers throughout the West with our girls, sharing our deep love of river with our children and instilling this love in them.
Last year, I happened to be near the Kern with my oldest daughter, traveling with a raft in my car, as I am known to do. I was talking with Bridget and, without hesitation, she said she'd drive three hours to meet us to set shuttle. It was running at a level that day that left a charge in you just standing on the shore. We had such an epic day and decided it was time to put it all together. We would create a way to share this magic with others.
The river heals. The river recharges. The river renews. The river reinvigorates. The river answers the questions that you have, every single time, without fail.
Since then, we’ve been weaving the wisdom we've gathered through the years into a retreat for women to allow healing through nature, with the river, while using our tools to guide the journey downstream and deeper into ourselves.
We're guides. That's what we do. In all aspects of our lives. Where will we guide this special retreat? The Main Salmon was almost front and center as an obvious answer for this offering. The River of No Return Wilderness is a 2.4 million acre wilderness, the largest in the lower 48 states.
We have gathered an absolutely beautiful group of women. We are so very excited to offer this world class women's wellness retreat in one of the most beautiful places in the world to YOU. And this year, because this is our first offering together (more are in the books already...don't worry!) the pricing is as low as it will ever get. We have a couple of spots left and we want to extend the opportunity to join us for this nature immersion healing retreat.
If you haven't yet become a river person, know that we've carefully selected the Main Salmon as it *doesn't* have the fear factor of some whitewater rivers, but it does have the splashy fun! You can relax ~ truly ~ and settle into the flow. There are also beautiful natural hot springs along the river to further relax and replenish you.
Imagine gathering together each day along the sandy beaches of the river, deep in the canyon, listening to the river's song ~ to share, breathe, settle into meditation, gently move our bodies, and discover our uniqueness through the lens of Ayurveda. Envision sinking into a profound journaling experience with writing prompts to help you uncover your inner essence and connect with our surroundings. Imagine letting nature nurture your spirit.
We’ve put together exactly what we would want to experience ourselves in a wellness retreat, and we are so very happy to share this experience with you!
